CarMD Connect: Map

Purpose

To guide you on how to access and navigate the app’s geolocation tracking features.


  1. Map Settings: Tap to join a group, create a group, and leave a group. A user can only join one group at a time. Note: When creating a group, each member of the group needs to install the CarMD. Connect app. Each member is not required to have a CarMD Connect device, but it’s recommended to have one device per vehicle for optimal tracking, sharing, and co-managing vehicles.
  2. Map: Shows a visual representation of the whereabouts of individuals and vehicles within a group. Note: Please be aware that the map location of a vehicle or person updates every 8 seconds. This preserves the device's battery life.
  3. Group Tab: Map overlay tab reveals the assigned Name for the group (e.g., Smith Family), the Cars in the group, the People in the group, and the geolocation Alerts set for the group.
  4. Cars: Displays the location of the user’s vehicle and all other vehicles within their group. Tap on the “arrow” icon to map the distance to the vehicle’s location.

  5. People: Displays the location of all individuals within the group. Tap the “direction” icon to map the

    distance to their location.

  6. Alerts: Displays all geolocation alerts. Tap the “+” icon to set an alert. Tap the “trash” icon to delete

    an alert. Tap the “bell” icon to activate or mute the alert.
