CarMD Connect: Setup - Android
Purpose
To guide you on how to set up your CarMD Connect device using your Android phone.
Step 1: Download and install the CarMD Connect app from Google Play.
- Using your smartphone’s camera, scan the QR code to download the app and set up your device.
- You may also directly go to Google Play Store, or:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Search for "CarMD Connect".
- Tap on the app in the results.
- Tap Install.
Step 2: Create your Account.
- Open the CarMD Connect app and follow the prompts.
- Tap Create account.
- Fill out the account information and tap Create account.
Step 3: Set up your device.
- While at your vehicle, open the CarMD Connect app and follow the prompts. Make sure your Bluetooth® is enabled on your smartphone.
- Make sure to allow the location permissions to be able to connect to Bluetooth. Your device will not be able to scan the car or track the mileage if location permissions are not ON.
Step 4: Connect the CarMD Connect device to your vehicle.
- With the engine off, locate your vehicle’s OBD2 port and plug in your device. The port is usually located under the steering wheel. Use the app to find where yours is.
- Start your engine, wait a few seconds, and proceed to pair your CarMD Connect device.
- Ensure you have a good Wi-Fi/cellular signal and keep your smartphone close to the device to complete the setup.
Perform the first Health Check
Personalize your Car Profile
- Input the current mileage of your vehicle.
- You have the option to input a nickname for your vehicle and the license plate number.
Quick Vehicle Scan
- Once the pairing is done, a quick scan will be performed to see the vehicle's current health status.
- Congratulations! You’re now ready to drive and protect.
